The things we see

A daddy long legs spider in Diane's garden...

Doggies in a boat on the lookout for good stuff...

And a horse and carriage pass on the road above as a red winged blackbird looks for a bite to eat on the green below.

Verlyn fishing

Verlyn Knepp came out in the morning on his 55th birthday and played some golf for the first time in several years. Then he went back to his first passion, fishing, for the remainder of the day and part of the evening.

Bug Catcher

This bird is a resident over at the golf course. Anybody know what it is?

Update: maybe an Eastern Kingbird. It's a welcome addition to our bug patrol.

Baby bird underneath the fir tree

Taken earlier this evening while I was playing golf. My tee shot had wandered off the beaten path and underneath a fir tree to the right of #1 fairway. When I reached under the tree with one of my irons to scoot the 'ball' out where I could hit it, the 'ball' went peep! It was a baby bird letting me know that he was not a golf ball. I offered my apologies and went about retrieving my actual ball which was just a few feet away (and still under the fir tree). I imagine the baby's mom was much relieved when I left the neighborhood.
