June 6, 1940

Photo: Wild flowers on the other side of the hedge just off our front porch.

My mom had a baby and it turned out to be me. Oh boy...

Of note:

-now we are down to two in presidential politics; may the youngster win overwhelmingly. Not because he's a youngster, not because he's black, not because he's a man. But rather because he is pro people, and pro constitution, and pro peace, and pro freedom and justice for all. And maybe we'll get to see the crooks and thieves and rascals and rowdies of the past eight years get their comeuppance. That special ring of hell awaits them.

-lots of tributes and commemorations of RFK with the passing of yet another June the 5th. Forty years ago yesterday he was killed. Ouch - still hurts.

-I'ld rather see Hillary in the Senate than as the Veep though it would be great to have a lady VP, and she would probably make a very good one. What would become of Bill?

-Cubs still best team in baseball?

-Celtics beat the Lakers last night. When I saw some of the highlights down at the Cabin (there for breakfast with Diane and Jim and Wilma - Jack Lents joined us for a little), took me back twenty some years to the Larry-Magic shows of the early 80's.

-Ian just called and is ready for our golf game. Think I am subbing for broken footed/toed Lucas this week. He celebrates his 13th birthday today. And no, I do not remember being 13; might have skipped that year and gone directly to 14.
