Around the Arena: Girls Semistate at Bedford North Lawrence

It was pretty crowded at the arena but I really didn't think it was 'lap room only' status quite yet.

Part of the band, one with five in the clarinet section - 3A school Rushville. What a luxury!

Local golfer Scott Arthur was prowling the sidelines before putting on his striped shirt for the second game. Don't really think the Rushville cheerleaders were applauding him but then, who knows - they did go on to beat the Evansville Memorial team with Scott being one of the officials. Giving him thanks in advance?

Vincennes Rivet did win its game against Waldron, 55-38. Here one of the players, already sporting a semistate tee shirt, demonstrates how to catch a basketball (well, maybe not precisely that) to a couple of very intent young men. The Rivet girls will meet Fort Wayne Canterbury for the title next Saturday at 10am in Fort Wayne. It was the Canterbury team that nipped them for the title last year after Rivet had it all but wrapped up. Sounds like payback time.
