Some more color from Diane's garden

This time a splash of orange.

This is an old azalea that was transplanted from daughter Miki's yard in Bloomington down here to Loogootee. It thrives, and has the most unusual and beautiful orange blossoms that come on before the leaves. Anyone know what type of azalea it is that blooms before the leaves come out? I weed it and feed it and prune it and love it. We also have a couple dwarf azalea bushes in the back of the house that begin blooming well before the orange one (and after the leaf set); one is a dark pink and the other an orange red shade. We became familiar with the acid-soil loving varieties of azalea and rhododendron when we lived in Bellevue, Washington. Don't think "rhodies" do well here though.
