A book: J.A.Jance's Until Proven Guilty

I have been very remiss in my book reading this summer because of all the goings on at the golf course. However, I did just finish a dandy, a detective story set in Seattle (remember, we lived out there way back in the '60's). The book: Until Proven Guilty. Has a lady in a red dress, surly detectives, a surprising amount of love, some violence, a detestable newspaperman, and an ending that the author handles extremely well. And one of the good things about this introduction to J.A. Jance: she has been very prolific in her writing. This particular book was her first of now 18 in the J.P. Beaumont detective series.
