Some of the kids out for the fireworks at Boggs Lake on the evening of the 3rd (go here to see them in color in a slightly different pose and here for more b&w's at the same event). Posted as part of The Monochrome Weekly hosted by Aileni. Go here for many more b&w's from photographers around the world.

Waiting for nightfall too, I fancy.
They seem to expect a long wait...
I guess the waiting is a part of the whole but it can be really tiring for kids, no doubt...(what did they say when they discovered that they were in a photoshoot?)
Cute. Great shot.
I like the expectant look on their faces.
I like this, Michael!
I m sure it was one exciting moment for them during all the waiting..
