Bloomington: Tuesday Sightings

Spent part of my Tuesday in Bloomington and came away with some impressions. Went to the mall first but didn't find much of interest up there so came back to town, parked, and started wandering towards the campus. Never did get to the campus - found this noon concert going on at the People's Park and stopped, enjoyed the music, and took some photos of the singers as well as the folks listening in.

Bloomington Tea Bagger

Miki and I had tea (Miki) and coffee (me) at a small coffee house not far from Miki's work in Bloomington. I forget what the smile was all about but it's a nice one, don't you think?

Grasshoppered Door Handle

A small guy (click on photo to make him bigger) came to visit and was trying to figure out how to get our attention. I went out without noticing him but, fortunately for the two of us, saw him just before I grabbed the door handle on my way back in. For the Monochrome Weekly Theme. 33 brick street

Jim, Wilma and Diane are mere reflections in this photo taken last Friday when we went down to French Lick to have lunch at 33 brick street. It's a sports bar and has a bunch of sports memoribilia around and about. The '33', of course, is the number of Boston Celtic great and French Lick legend, Larry Bird (no relation of the author). Food was good, company was excellent.

Three Belgiums...

...making their way across a neighbor's front yard? Nah. Just looking for a stray blade of grass that they might have missed in an earlier pass through the pasture next to their master's house.

Friday Night Football in Daviess County

Sun falling over the goal post at Cougar Stadium in Odon. Big Daviess County rivalry there last night as the 1A North Daviess Cougars took on the big guys from Washington, the 3A Hatchets.

Several blue shirts and one pink in the band section. Did have people wondering where these guys came from as they were not robed in the orange and black/white of North Daviess.

Guys in stripes are going home - game's over. The home town team, the Cougars, treated their neighbors like royalty and let this one slip away, 14-6. First time I have been to a high school football game since my own days at St. Joe's up in South Bend back in the 50's. Oh my.
