Indy scenes

Looking north towards city center from LOS (Lucas Oil Stadium - does it have a nickname yet?).

Notice anything unreal in this photo? National City was one of the early banks to disappear. In 2008, it managed to lose over 90% of its value before being picked up by PNC in a bank buyout made possible with Federal bailout funds. For National City stockholders, the unreal is an obscenity.

No nickname for Lucas Oil Stadium. Andrea Kremer from NBC tried "the Luke" on Sunday Night Football but Lucas Oil, who paid millions for the naming rights, pitched a fit (and rightly so). "Please refer to the building as Lucas Oil Stadium. Thank you." Or that's what I heard anyway.

Interesting. Eventually the fans will find something to suit their fancy. Remember how the IU Bloomington students dictated where walking paths were going to be? The planners, wisely, followed the students' lead and put in walking paths where the students had firmly trod down the grass to reveal bare ground. Smart.
