Waiting at the gates

Basketball fans at the Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis getting ready for the day's second state final in girls' class basketball. A little bit different for Monochrome Monday but somehow appealing. Agree? Other Monochrome photos from around the world can be found at Aileni's.

Bonsoir, Michael,
In B&W, it looks like an advertising for young adults.
Youth is just wearing the same clothes wherever they live, this picture could have been taken at an highschool exit in Paris.

It's very appealing. The stance and 'uniform' of the young girls makes it a great snapshot of our time.

I agree with Catherine, this could have been taken at any town here too... universal...

As I have said before, reportage in B&W has extra punch... however, that said, these girls would look pretty good whatever.

"Great snapshot of our time"
The Beatles bag form the 60's, but then the digital camera gives it away.

A welcome distraction! As said above, it could be pretty well anywhere in the world.

As said it a universal unifrom image taht even my island would recognise but no one has noted the exaggerated stances. A natural image in a commercail way. Does this make sense to you?

Amazing how kids look so much the same around the world! Nice shot.

Funny, the first thing I noticed were the gates in the background. But, would there have been a bunch of attractive young men in the foreground.....?

I am impressed that girls like sports that dont feature boys ..
