Notes on a Saturday Morning

Photo: Garp's World? More light than dark.

Notes on a Saturday morning:

-Finished John Irving's The World According to Garp. Enjoyed it the first time I read it twenty-five years ago, maybe thirty; enjoyed it even more this time though I didn't remember most of it. Lots of laughing, lots of crying, Two ever present companions throughout the book: Death and Mirth. A honey.

-It's warming and the snow and ice are melting. Hurray! Yes, I look forward to golfing next week. Don't care if the grounds a little soggy...

-Looks like the Stimulus package is going to get passed. That's good - have you noticed that the press is spending a lot of time talking about the people on Main Street as well as the people on Wall Street? Good thing - those are the people - that's us - who have been ignored while the 'Fat Cats' get bailed out with taxpayer money. Just a little rage here. Need jobs, not handouts.

-I'm half way glad the Republicans have something to talk about now - Barack Obama's lack of decorum in the Oval Office. Gets their minds off of condoms.

-Ordered and installed two photo shaping programs this week: Olympus Studio 2 and PhotoShop Elements 7. Now for the more difficult part - learning them. Used Picasa to shape the above photo.

-Going to town - mailing stuff for Diane who is feeling poorly with a cough and cold like symptoms.
