Election day 2008

Update 3: It's the day after now, 7:30 in the morning. Obama is the president elect. Indiana and Florida went blue. Wow. My predictions were wildly optimistic just as I said they were - guess they were dead on in that sense.

Update 2: Pundits are talking about a 80 to 90% turnout. Don't we usually struggle to get to 50%? Holy Cow! (I'll believe it when I see it.) (Gonna go play golf for the next four hours - it's a good day for golfing as well as voting, in case you haven't noticed.)

Update: We voted! Also learned that registrations are up in our little corner of the world: 700+ now, 500+ two years ago. (Wow!) Also, the voting has been very heavy - people were waiting when the polling place opened and when we got there nine or ten people were in front of us - a half hour wait as it turned out. Before we left, the waiting crowd had probably tripled.

Go vote. We're heading out in just a little bit.
