Eyes on the Prize, Golf, Birdies at the FBR

While Eli Manning was busy going about collecting his Super Bowl MVP award our in Arizonz, PBS in Carbondale (WSIU) was showing a segment of Eyes on the Prize. Have seen much of this award winning program about the struggle for civil rights in the Sixties but this one apparently escaped me. From Wikipedia:
"it is the principal film account of the most important American social justice movement of the 20th century." Because of its extensive use of primary sources and the depth of coverage of the material, it has been adopted as a key reference and record of the civil rights movement.
Malcolm X and Stokeley Carmichael played important roles in this particular segment. Both of these men were strong and indignant voices for the rights of the Blacks, not for next week or next month or next year but for fight now. Riveting history.

Before all that, got home from another afternoon of golf (with Doug, Short and Dave) to catch the last of the FBR tournament down in Arizona. Saw the final group of Byrd, Warren and Holmes birdie the last hole which meant that Holmes could take on Mickelson in what turned out to be a one hole playoff when he, Holmes, again birdied the 18th. Must have been an awfully easy hole, don't you think?

Be heading over to the golf course pretty soon. Just a little rain last night and the temperatures didn't dip below 50. Warm and windy.
