Don't know whose hands, but that is a Cosmos bloom gone to seed. Ray Shaw brought in a pickup truck load of Cosmos plants, hoping to find some takers. My Cosmos were incredibly beautiful this summer, and still are, renewing my faith in the continuance of flora after this summer's drought that kept Mr. Death busy on many a garden, shrub and tree. Maybe Mike will put a picture of my flowers on the blog.
Places: Long Island, New York the first ten years, South Bend, Indiana the next ten years, all over the place, including Germany, Japan, Vietnam, California and Washington the following fifteen years, and ever since then down here in southern Indiana.
