More Monday but this is it...

Cubs

Noah Callahan came in late yesterday and reported that the Cubs had won another one. And now I just read that they won today too, coming from behind to nip the Giants. 16th win in last 20 games. Okay, that's cool. Then I read that it's the Cubbies 4th win in a row since the All Star break. Hmmm, that has already taken place? When? And who won? It all slipped under the radar for me. Oh well, so it goes... But, for now, go Cubs!

Watergate, Vietnam and Iraq

So I'm trying to remember the history of watergate and the pull out from Vietnam. Are we seeing some real parallels now? All the hearings? the discovery of more and more administrative shenanigans and criminal behavior? the further slippage into chaos of a war gone terribly sour? a citizenry getting more upset at the continued killing of it's young in a seemingly hopeless cause far away and in some very foreign land and culture? a president then going into his 2nd term after a landslide victory and now a president in his 2nd term who squeaked in but nonetheless claimed a mandate? polling numbers then and now that reflected the Public's disdain for the man in charge? What else?

K of C

Doug called in a set a date for a K of C scramble: this coming Sunday, July 22, 18 holes starting at 8am. Sign up at the K of C or at the clubhouse.

That's it and that's enough for one day. Tomorrow, Tuesday Boyz at Country Oaks and Tuesday Men at Lakeview (I like the sound of that). New leaders in both team and individual competition: Bill Carrico and Keith Parsons in the Team, and Trenton Kidwell in the Individual. Trenton going to a zero handicap tomorrow? How about his dad, Mike? Tune in tomorrow about this time; we'll have the answers...
