More Friday Follies

Political Follies

Looks like Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia, close friend of the Bushes, has been paid royally over the last ten years for his important work in helping his country buy gazillions of dollars worth of guns and stuff to defend his country. Billions of dollars in royalties for this member of the royalty. Royalties breed royalties breed royalties. Come on, guys, he needs the money...

AG Gonzales may be facing a 'no confidence' vote as early as next Monday. I predict that those who give this man a vote of confidence will be holding their hands behind their backs with their fingers crossed and saying under their breath: "I am confident that this man will continue to protect the many skeletons of the George Bush-Dick Cheney administration till he is rewarded with appropriate money and medals or until he dies, whichever comes first". For the rest, the vote will be for his stewardship of the DoJ.

Sporting Follies

Michelle Wie finished the first two rounds of the LPGA championship but may not make the cut for the weekend. I hope she gets to play. Last week's withdrawal when she was in danger of becoming a victim of the Rule of 88 may have the end result of refocusing both her and her entourage. Funny rule, that rule of 88. Would have been a terrible thing for the LPGA to have to retire Michelle Wie for a year. At least that's my thinking. BTW, Suzann Petersen at -8 the current leader by three.

Spurs solve LeBron puzzle and win game 1. But by a lower than expected score. Go Cavs.
