Wednesday Stuff

Picture: Shirley and Kim brightening things up on the course yesterday.

My continuing fascination with the shenanigans going on in our Nation's capital:

On Libby and Liberty

The guy is guilty of treason, in my book, and he's going to jail. But only for thirty months and with a fine of $250000. Paltry. Should be thirty years, and as I've said before, a gazillion dollars. The guy is Libby who thinks he has done nothing wrong. Hey, bud, you did wrong. Go to jail and don't pass go. Oh boy - to pardon or not to pardon. Bush faced with difficult choice (do I remember rightly that Bush as governor of Texas sent every one of the death row guys whose time was up on their merry way? he and Gonzales?)

On the DOJ Mess

More hearings and more "I don't recall". Was it the Bobby Kennedy organized crime hearings back in the '50's that produced all those 'gangster' types who took the 5th over and over again?

On GOP call to kick indicted Democrat Jefferson out of the House - from WAPO:

"...GOP leaders made no moves to expel Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) and Robert W. Ney (R-Ohio) from the House after their indictments last year, going out of their way to try to preserve a path for DeLay's return to the leadership and saying Ney would have to decide whether to resign..."

Guess Republicans believe that Democrats, not being of the right persuasion, should be treated differently.

Gotta stop and head to the golf course where we are going to have another day of good clean fun. Remember, the lies that we run into out there are going to have to do with the position of a golf ball. And that should be sufficient for the day. Right?

Hey, one other note. It's my grandson's birthday, one he shares with me. He also shares a birth place, Brooklyn. Happy shared Birthday, Lucas.
