Monday Wrap

Bloomington Brickwork: IU Press where Miki works.

Guardians to the entrance to the Siam House on 4th Street in Bloomington. Do you know who they are?

Notes for a Steamy Monday

-Up to Bloomington this morning for supplies and to have lunch with #1 daughter Miki at the Siam House. Good eats, better company.

-At the golf course early this morning greeting and meeting Community League golfers; and also after five. Played nine holes with Tuesday Men leader Kevin Byron and his dad. Unspoken note to Jim from Junior: I beat Mike too... (Oh well, it was just practice, wasn't it?)

-at home a Gong Li movie. This one, Shanghai Triad, has Gong Li playing what in America would be called a gangster's moll. Lovely and rich movie with superb acting and a brutal ending. Gets a rating of five from me. Diane didn't care to watch.

-Tomorrow Tuesday Men come to a course almost at the blistering point with all the sun and heat. Ball rolling forever. Just get it started and let it find its own way to the green. Plan to get hot and sweaty cause that's what's happening to golfers during these steamy days of early August. Bring not only your A game but also plenty of hydrating fluids (better ask your mom if beer qualifies as a hydrating fluid...).
