Williams and Bird Get Eagles in Win at Lakeview
Junior Byron and CV Burgess watch as Jack Williams's ball disappears into the cup at #1 for an eagle. Jack was hitting his own tee shot just off the fairway about ninety-five yards out. Mike Bird followed Jack's heroics with an eagle of his own on the very next hole, rolling in a fifteen foot putt after driving the ball to a point just off the back side of the green. (Photo is a recreation; good acting, guys!)
Picture: Mike Anderson just missing a twenty foot putt at #18 that would have tied the score at 14 under.
The winning team of Junior Byron, Jack Williams, CV Burgess and Mike Bird. Their score of 14 under fell just one shy of the course record for a four person scramble set by Jim and Wilma Bateman, Patty Bowling and Mike Bird several years back.
Second place at 13 under: Phil Culver, Mike Anderson, Joe Doyle and Ray Shaw.
Third place at eight under: Tony Burnside, Danny Thomas, John Chapman and Jerry Robinson.
Reminder: Next week the Boyz go to Hidden Hills.
